Getting started
ASICA is designed to support people with a history of melanoma to regularly check their skin, record any concerns and generate a summary report that you can share with a healthcare professional if needed. We are looking for people to use the app for 6 months and then provide us with feedback. Here's a brief demo of what the app looks like.
You should have received a participant information sheet and consent form from Effie already. To get started, complete the following steps:
- Read through the Participant Information Sheet .
- Complete the Consent Form . You can print, complete, and attach a photo or scan of the completed sheet. If you would prefer a paper copy sent to your address - just let Effie know.
- Identify the brand, model (e.g., Samsung Galaxy A53 5G) and operating system (e.g., Android 8.1) of your phone. These external sites provide guidance for finding this information: Android device model ; Android version ; iPhone model name and iOS version .
- Check which email address you use to connect to your Google Play or Apple Store. This allows us to give you access to ASICA.
- Send the consent form, phone details, and email address to Effie.
Thanks very much for your interest in the study!
"[The app has] certainly given me a lot more self confidence. I think it's very reassuring that, if there is something, then you can go back to the pictures."
